Kadai Paneer Recipe

Kadai paneer is a delicious side dish in the Indian cuisine. Roti or rice can be had with kadai paneer, it would be perfect side dish for it. This kadai paneer recipe is from the authentic Indian kitchen, it would make a tasty meal.



INGREDIENTS:

Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp

Dried red chilies - 4

Oil - 2 tbsp

Onion - ½ cup (chopped)

Garlic paste - 1 tbsp

Tomatoes - 2 ½ cups (chopped)

Tomato – 1  (pureed)

Garam Masala - 1 tsp

fenugreek - 2 tsp

Salt - to taste

Water - 1 cup

Capsicum - ½ cup (cubed)

Paneer – 200 grams (1 sq. inch each)

Whipping Cream - ¼ cup

Cilantro - few sprigs (chopped)

METHOD:

  1. Dry roast coriander seeds and the chilies. Remove it. Cool it and ground it to a powder.

  2. Heat some oil in the same pan over a medium heat. Now lightly fry the onions, till they are soft.

  3. Now add the garlic paste and cook it for a minute.

  4. Then add the freshly ground spices and again cook it again for a minute.

  5. Now add in the chopped tomatoes and the salt. Cook it till all the moisture in it evaporates, in the middle  keep stirring and simultaneously keep mashing the tomatoes.

  6. Once it starts thickening, add pureed tomato, garam masala, fenugreek. Cook till oil starts incorporating.

  7. Add some water to make it to a gravy consistency, then add in capsicum and cook for about 4-5 minutes. Now add the paneer and mix in gently.

  9. Finally add in the chopped cilantro and serve not with some Indian bread or rice.
